WWT Consulting, the consultancy arm of the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust (WWT), was invited to produce a concept plan required to raise funds for a visitor centre near the Dokka Delta. Glowacka Rennie were appointed as the Architects to produce an exciting, innovative design on WWT’s behalf. It is envisaged that this would be the first of four such centres in Norway.

The Dokka Delta National Wetlands Centre will perform a number of roles. For local residents and tourists it will be a place for recreation and education. While for scientist and wetland managers it will be a place where they can conduct research and tell the world about their findings through the seminars that are hosted there. The brief includes an exhibition room, viewing gallery, auditorium, library, classrooms, workshops, café and shop.
