The client wanted ideas for the remodelling of her hall, living / dining / kitchen space and master bathroom. The first floor apartment has fantastic views over the Thames, but it also lacks privacy as people pass close by the floor-to-ceiling windows. The client also wanted flexibility in how she uses her space, and the ability to ‘put away’ the kitchen.

Inspired by the idea of theatre we designed a series of sliding screens to allow privacy whilst maintaining good daylight and discrete views of the river. At night the screens become projection surfaces, and the apartment puts on a ‘show’ for passers by.

The bespoke furniture includes a kitchen wall, within which the kitchen can be completely hidden, a walnut veneered cabinet that cleverly conceals a dining table and cooker, and a black ‘wall’ of bookshelves, entertainment system, concealed door and fold out office desk.
